Western Australia’s internationally competitive agriculture and food industries provide premium quality food and beverage products to customers throughout the globe. The food industry comprises about 900 processing companies, employing a workforce of about 19,500, with more than two-thirds of companies situated in the metropolitan and south-western regions. More than half of Western Australia’s medium and small-scale food processing operations are regionally based.
