MST Textiles, Clothing & Footwear Training Package - Round 2 Consultation
IBSA Manufacturing is seeking your feedback on Draft 2 training package components for the MST Buying Skills Project, now available for public consultation.
As the Skills Service Organisation (SSO) for the Textiles, Clothing & Footwear industry, IBSA Manufacturing is currently reviewing and developing ‘Buying Skills’ components for the Textiles, Clothing & Footwear Training Package (MST) to ensure that units and qualifications reflect industry requirements. The review is required because of significant changes in the industry since this training package content was developed. The TCF Industry Reference Committee (IRC) guides this development work and has nominated a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) to provide industry expertise.
The 2018 Buying Skills in Fashion and Textiles project involves:
Review of 2 qualifications - MST50116 Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Merchandising, MST60116 Advanced Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Merchandising; development of 1 new skill set unit and 1 new unit; and the review of 15 existing units to provide a targeted specialised buying focus to meet industry needs
Strengthening the alignment between required skills, units and the qualifications to improve job outcomes
Strengthening key buying skills, analytical skills and spread sheet literacy, along with improved foundation skills including mathematical literacy
All content has been updated to reflect current industry practice and to comply with the National Standards for Training Packages.
