The McGowan Government is taking swift action to progress strategies identified in partnership with Western Australian industry leaders at a recent Skills Summit, announcing more priority initiatives to attract and retain skilled workers in WA

For those of you who like data – Australian Labour Market Update - July 2021

We know it’s a tight labour market! This document “Are you looking for a job” produced by the National Skills Commission is intended to inform recent migrants, people interested in working in Australia. It has some interesting statistics.



For Businesses – Lots of templates and guidelines to help write your Business Plan, Marketing Plan, Emergency Management Plan.

Business.gov.au provides tools and templates to help small businesses improve their management processes. They are free and easy to follow.



For School leavers and Parents of School Leavers – “Guide to education, training and work in 2021”

National Skills Commission has published a School Leavers Information Kit to help school leavers to understand the options available to them.



Building Horticulture Business Capacity

This program provides high quality, tailored business training to individual vegetable and apple enterprises. Participants learn skills in business analysis and data collection and receive expert advice and an examination of farm management practises to improve the overall viability of their business.



For teachers– Worksafe SmartMove

WorkSafe SmartMove is a Work Health and Safety (WHS*) online educational program for senior high school students, young workers entering the workforce on work placement, work experience, or as school-based trainee/apprentice, and new workers entering the workforce for the first time.

For RTOs – VET Development Centre, PD for the VET Workforce

VDC has a comprehensive calendar of PD opportunities. Although based in Victoria, WA practitioners can access the sessions. Many are available online or as webinars.



Skills Impact Update – August 2021

This report provides an update on the progress of various projects and activities to support Industry Reference Committees (IRCs) assigned to Skills Impact. This update is for key stakeholders with a deeper level of interest in their work and projects.
