Apprenticeship and Traineeship Advice

Apprenticeships and Traineeships are structured employment-based training that results in a nationally recognised qualification. They remain a WA Government priority.

FFTITC advises:

  • The State Training Board on the creation of apprenticeships and traineeships, and their conditions, such as the nominal duration and whether they are available part time or for school students; and

  • The Department of Training and Workforce Development on apprenticeship and traineeship policy and delivery issues.

If you see an opportunity for a new apprenticeship or traineeship or to improve a current apprenticeship or traineeship, please contact us for advice and assistance.

Contact an Apprenticeships Support Network Provider (Apprenticeship Support Australia, Busy at Work, or MEGT) if you want to:

  • Take on an apprentice or trainee;

  • Know what apprenticeships and traineeships are available; or

  • Know if you are eligible and what financial incentives are available.

If you have an issue with your current apprentice or trainee, see https://www.dtwd.wa.gov.au/apprenticeship-office
